Rosamund Pike
Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of Caroline (Friend) Pike, an accomplished classical violinist mother, and Julian Pike, an opera musician dad. She spent her early years traveling around Europe because of her parents' work. Pike attended Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then discovered by an agent and signed. Her debut film was a huge-budget action thriller. However, her subsequent films were mostly independent films, such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). For which she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) featured Pike as one of the Bennet girls. A brief excursion into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) But she made a return to smaller films with outstanding performances in three movies: An Education (2009), Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010) and the lead opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as portrayed the role of "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic, Wrath of the Titans (2012). In the film, she starred with Tom Cruise as her female character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action movies.
