Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey was born on the
16th of May in New Zealand. She is well-known for her distinctive, soft-spoken
and headstrong roles. She mostly appears in films that are independent. Her
awards include the New Zealand Film Award, a Hollywood Film Award and a
Sundance Special Jury Award, in addition to Gotham Award, Golden Nymph Award,
Critics' Choice Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey was a
teen murderess, who made her film debut in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures
(1994). After moving to the United States, Lynskey built her career as an
supporting actor in various large and small-budget films like Ever After
(1998), Detroit Rock City, But... (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000) and Sweet
Home Alabama (both 2002), Shattered glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006)
and Away We Go!, Up in the Air!, Leaves of Grass (2009), Win Win (2011) and
Seeking a Wallflower (both 2014) Then they came Together (2014) and Don't look
up (2021). Lynskey was nominated for the Gotham Award as Breakthrough Performer
and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a depressed divorcée in The
Goodbye I Must be Going (2012). This was a pivotal point in her professional
career. She has been a prominent actor in the American independent film
industry through her later performances in Happy Christmas. We'll Never Have
Paris. Goodbye To All That (all 2014), The Intervention. Rainbow Time. Little

Lynskey is also famous for her role as Rose on Two and a Half Men (2003-2015).
She was the central character of Togetherness from 2015-2016, where she
received a nomination from the Critics' Choice Television Awards for Best
Supporting Actress. Megan and Beatrice voiced her characters on the Cartoon
Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014). (2016-2018). She starred in Molly
Strand's debut season on Hulu (2018), and Rosemary Thomson was her role in Mrs.
America (2020).
