Rose McGowan

"Rose", born September 5, 1973 was an American actress. McGowan's
debut film appearance was in the comedic Encino Man (1992), however, she
received more attention due to her part in The Doom Generation (1995), where she
received an Independent Spirit Award nomination as Best Debut Performance. Her
breakthrough came in the horror film Scream (1996) which later headlined the
films Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999).
During the 2000s, McGowan became known to viewers on television for her
performance as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed
(2001-2006). McGowan was later cast in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's
double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated for both the
Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. In
2014, she starred in Chosen, an action thriller series. The actress dropped
Planet 9, her first album of her own in the year 2018 and a repackaging
followed in 2020. McGowan was awarded the title of Silence Breakers in 2017 by
Time magazine. The award honors McGowan's work in the field of sexual
harassment and sexual assault especially in relation to Harvey Weinstein cases
of sexual abuse and the Me Too movement. McGowan has published her memoir,
Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in
the year 2018.
